Whistler Blackcomb is a premier ski resort located in Canada’s Coast Mountain Range. A short drive from Vancouver, British Columbia, the resort is a major year-round tourism destination. Consistently ranked as North America’s top ski and snowboard resort, Whistler Blackcomb continues to raise the level of mountain excitement for its guests. This resort is home to the continent’s two greatest vertical-rise ski mountains – Whistler and Blackcomb. With over 17 alpine bowls, four glaciers, 200 trails, 8,171 acres of skiable terrain and a one mile vertical rise.
These top rankings made it necessary to create a new and fresh identity that is able to capture this special Whistler Blackcomb experience.
The resulting design is both simple and dynamic in its form— the letter ‘W’ in an unusual shape, representing the two mountain peaks and all the energy that is connected to this resort. The success of this identity made it possible to raise merchandise sales close to 100% in the year of introduction.
